Nobody to configure JIRA: how the Scrum Master role got devalued
A few days ago, while working with one of my clients, I heard the phrase “we have nobody to configure JIRA, we don’t have a Scrum Master role”. And everyone on the call nodded, as if that’s just how things are. It made me very sad. How did we get, over all these years, from the revolutionary Agile Manifesto and the Scrum framework, from cultural and digital transformations and building adaptive organisations, to expecting someone to configure JIRA?
One factor in the devaluation of the Scrum Master role is, of course, mass commercial certification after basic trainings. But to end up like this…
